TLD supplies SAASA with GSE at Jorge Chavez Airport

SAASA GSE for Jorge Chavez new airport resizedServicios Aeroportuarios Andinos (SAASA) has finalised the acquisition of GSE worth $5.9 million for operations at the new Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru.

On Friday 20 June, SAASA took delivery of two TPX-200MTX Towbarless tractors from TLD, completing the first batch of 25 pieces of GSE and 25 pallet carrier dollies.

The delivery is part of a broader investment plan for equipment at the airport, which will continue this year.

Enrique Vargas, General Manager of SAASA said: “This investment reflects our commitment to operational safety and the use of state-of-the-art technology. We incorporate equipment with advanced telemetry systems and approach sensors, such as loaders and motorised ladders, which significantly improve safety in aircraft operation.”

SAASA invests $4.2m in GSE from TLD

TLD TMX-150 SAASA resizedServicios Aeroportuarios Andinos (SAASA) has invested $4.2 million in 30 pieces of GSE supplied by TLD.

The first 20 units worth $2.2 million will be delivered this year and the remaining 10 units worth $2 million will be delivered next year.

SAASA has taken delivery of the first unit, a TWT NB/TMX-150-15 tugboat and will receive eight JST-25-LPG tractors, two TPX-200-MTX B777 towbarless tugs, a lower deck TXL-838-WID diesel loader with ASD, three AERO 2001104 motorised ladders, three 90 KVA GPU-409-E-CUP power plants, one 140 KVA GPU-414-E-CUP power plants and one ASU-600-270-DUP pneumatic starter.

Next year, SAASA will receive three NBL-E-MK2-HIS hybrid conveyor belts, two NBL-LPG conveyor belts with ASD, a TMX-450-50 TWT WB tug, three TXL-838-WID lower deck hybrid lodgers with ASD, and an ACU-802S-CUP air conditioner.

SAASA starts IATA CEIV Fresh and Live Animals certifications

Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos S.A. has started the process to earn IATA CEIV Fresh and CEIV Live Animals certification.saasa

The airport service provider achieved the CEIV Pharma certification in March this year, making it the first cargo terminal in Peru to earn the certificate.

“With the start of the CEIV Fresh and CEIV Live Animals certifications, we are close to being the first Peruvian operator and the first in the region to have these three certifications.” said Enrique Vargas, SAASA General Manager.

These two important certifications will guarantee the traceability, handling and storage of perishable products, and the transport of live animals, in accordance with international standards used in the industry.

“SAASA is an important part of the supply chain of different sectors through the services it provides. Having these three certifications will turn us into the reliable partner for the air export and import of perishable products and live animals, especially Peruvian agro-industrial products which are today all over the world,” Vargas continued.
